About Us
Cornell Cooperative Extension is a community-based, not-for-profit educational organization created by New York State Law as a subordinate form of government. An elected, volunteer board of directors governs the organization and helps to identify local needs, prioritizes educational programs, and works with Extension's educational staff to ensure program effectiveness. Extension has provided quality educational programming and resources in Genesee County for 90 years.
The Cornell Cooperative Extension educational system enables people to improve their lives and communities through partnerships that put experience and research knowledge to work. This mission is shared with Extension associations that are in every county across New York State. In Genesee County, program priorities include agricultural production, policy, and economic development; adult and youth leadership development; nutrition, health, and human development; environmental resource management; and public policy education.
