"Garden Talk" - Creating a Cutting Garden

  • Tuesday, March 6, 2018, 12:15 PM - 12:45 PM

Join the Genesee County Master Gardeners for a Free monthly garden series called “Garden Talk.” We will discuss a variety of garden related topics on the first Tuesday of the month (except July) throughout the year. Taught by Master Gardeners, these will be held during the “lunch hour” from 12:15 to 12:45 pm, so bring your lunch to the CCE office and think gardening! This series is free and open to the public, no registration is required.

For those of us who hate to cut flowers from our landscape borders and perennial gardens but want to live with fresh flowers, consider planting a cutting garden.  A 3' x 10' cut flower garden can provide you with one if not two fresh flower bouquets a week during peak season! Master Gardener Brandie Waite will also cover the best flower varieties for direct sowing, many of which are "cut and come again" type flowers.
