We have over 80 Master Gardener Volunteers here at CCE Genesee County, who work to provide the community with research based information regarding gardening, horticulture, pests, soil, and much more! If you are interested in becoming a Master Gardener volunteer, contact our office at 585-343-3040 ext. 101 and we will put you on a mailing list to receive information about the next Master Gardener Training session. Typically it is a twelve week training course covering a variety of topics. There is a one time fee that covers the cost of materials, speaker fees, etc.
After successfully completing the training, you can then apply to become a Master Gardener Volunteer. First year volunteers dedicate at least 50 hours of volunteer time to the Genesee County Master Gardener Program. To remain active, Master Gardeners volunteer a minimum of 10 hours each year.
