Farm Energy

Renewable energy and farming are a winning combination. Wind, solar, and biomass energy can be harvested forever, providing farmers with a long-term source of income. Sustainable agriculture and sustainable energy are really two sides of the same coin. In this website you will find links, resources, journals, and more related to energy in agriculture, and what you can do to improve. Together we can work towards profitable farms that protect the environment.

Digesters

Renewable energy is not just about biofuels anymore! Animal waste is now being processed through Methane Digesters to fuel farms, and cut down on energy costs. In addition to reducing odor, these renewable energy projects generate heat and byproducts that the farmer can use for serving their agricultural operations.

Natural Gas Potential in New York

A thick black rock about 6,000 feet underground, known as Marcellus Shale, could soon help relieve most of our independence on foreign fuels. This rock is said to be an untapped reservoir of natural gas. Energy companies have known about this for sometime now, but in the past it has been uneconomical to extract. This reserve tank is within short pipeline distance from some of the nations most energy hungry cities.
