CCE Genesee Board of Directors Notice

Are you dedicated to the children, youth, families, farmers, and communities across Genesee County? Are you looking for a way to make a difference in the lives of people in our community? CCE Genesee serves residents of Genesee County through the following five program areas: agriculture & food systems, health & nutrition, 4-H/youth development, community & economic vitality, and environment & natural resources.

Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Genesee County is searching for community members to fill three open volunteer positions on its Board of Directors starting January 1, 2025.

The Board of Directors is the governing body of CCE Genesee providing leadership to establish association policy, determine program scope and provide financing and facilities. These volunteers also establish strategic direction, ensure adequate resources and assets, and oversee effective stewardship.

Our Mission, Cornell Cooperative Extension puts knowledge to work in pursuit of economic vitality, ecological sustainability and social well-being. We bring local experience and research-based solutions together, helping New York State families and communities thrive in our rapidly changing world. We are particularly interested in candidates who would bring unique perspective and input to our current Board of Directors. Experience with financials, strategic planning and understanding human resources is a plus.

Candidate requirements: Candidates must be Genesee County residents and over the age of 18. Board Meetings are held monthly at the CCE office located at 420 East Main St, in Batavia, NY. Board meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm. Nominated candidates will be announced mid-September 2024 with voting to take place at our Annual Meeting on October 22, 2024 at Terry Hills.
